Energy Efficiency
Senate Roll Call Vote 11
Issue: Clean Energy

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) offered an amendment to S. 2012, the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015, which would establish a national energy efficiency resource standard based on successful programs in Minnesota that require electricity and natural gas providers to meet annual targets for cutting energy use in homes and businesses. Energy efficiency saves consumers money while reducing the public health and environmental risks of pollution. This amendment would also send a clear market signal that would spur research and development of energy efficient technologies. On February 2, the Senate rejected the Franken amendment by a vote of 43-52 (Senate roll call vote 11). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
