Wind Energy Transmission Line
Senate Roll Call Vote 51
Issue: Clean Energy

Senator John Boozman (R-AR) offered an amendment to S. 2012, the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015, which would require additional studies before proceeding with the construction of a 700-mile electricity transmission project that would bring wind energy from the Great Plains to the southeast. The project, known as the Plains and Eastern Clean Line project, would provide much-needed transmission capacity to our outdated grid and has already been approved under a process created by the Energy Policy Act of 2005. On April 19, the Senate rejected the Boozman amendment by a vote of 42-55 (Senate roll call vote 51). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
