Clean Energy Funding
Senate Roll Call Vote 9
Issue: Clean Energy

Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) offered an amendment to S. 2012, the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015, which would increase funding for the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, an important Department of Energy research program intended to spur transformational breakthroughs in energy technologies. Additional funding for this program could help the United States lead in the clean energy transformation. On January 28, the Senate approved the Schatz amendment by a vote of 55-37 (Senate roll call vote 9). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE. S. 2012 passed the Senate and moved to conference with a House-passed energy bill, but did not become law.
