S. 2009. The vote is on the final House-Senate Conference report on the bill to set aside 2.3 million acres of central Idaho as the River of No Return Wilderness. This is the largest wilderness area anywhere in the lower 48 states and is the home of many large mammals and big game. The bill also added 105,000 acres to the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness and designated 125 miles of Salmon as part of the National Wild and Scenic River System. Adopted 272-137. July 1, 1980.
